In 2013 I joined 343 Industries, guardians of the Halo franchise, to help design, develop, and launch the Halo Channel.
I worked on visual, motion, and user experience design for the channel UI. In addition, I created branded content like network bugs and interstitial sequences, helped our team of engineers to build programmatic interface animations, and created original film content for Halo: Nightfall.
The short films are known as "Second Stories / ONI Eyes" and exist synchronously with Halo: Nightfall, a feature-length film made in partnership with Scott Free Productions and directed by Sergio Mimica Gezzan. As users watch Nightfall, they unlock access to the films which offer detailed insight into characters, places, and Halo canon.
The Halo Channel is free and available on both Windows 8 and Xbox One.
The Halo Channel was a content delivery platform designed to serve video, promote first-party content by 343, and interactively engage with users. It first launched on Xbox One, then for mobile devices the following year. I worked on the various animation systems throughout both apps, and contributed to the visual design of the product from concept to delivery.
